Constitutional Amendments
If I got to add a constitutional amendment there would be a lot of ideas that I would have. The amendment that I would have to make is to outlaw smoking all together. Smoking is so bad for your body. When you smoke, you do not live as long. When someone smokes their lungs turn black and it is hard for them to breath and work. I am not as concerned for those people because it is their choice whether they smoke or not. I am more concerned about the people that live with the smokers or the people that have to be around them. Second- hand smoke is the worst for people because that smoke is unfiltered. It still has all of the yucky stuff that is in cigarettes. Recently, smoking has been banned from public places. I don't think that is good enough. It doesn't matter where you are, there are cigarettes littering the streets. In public when I walk past a person smoking it is one of the worst feelings in my life because of the smell and how it makes me feel like my throat is closing. When my sister walks by someone smoking she coughs as loud as she can. She thinks if she does this than maybe they will get the point that it is bad for other people. I feel as though if I outlaw smoking, people will still buy it, just illegally. I think it would be best for everyone is smoking was against the law.

Believing Again
I wish I could believe in Superman again. As a child Superman was one of my biggest idols. He was the whole package, he could fly, he was super strong, faster than a speeding bullet, and he had laser coming out of his eyes. Superman saved the innocent and put the "bad people" in jail. By day he was just a reporter, but by night he was a crime fighting machine. I thought it was awesome how he changed in a phone booth and how he had a double identity. It was very entertaining to watch the different shows about him with all of his different enemies. In different shows they made up new characters, but the main ones were always the same. Clark Kent falls in love with Lois Lane while battling Lex Luther. Superman set the bar pretty high for all of the crime fighters and that was why I loved him. I know now that there is no possible way that a person could fly or shoot lasers out of their eyes. I would like to believe it again experience the hopefulness all over again.

Appearances
I know people that are big on the outside and little on the inside. They act all big and tough, when really they aren't as confident as they seem. They only put on a show, sometimes to be like the people that they hang out around. I know people that are little on the outside and big on the inside. One person I know is very small, but she has the heart of a lion. I know another person that is very shy and she doesn't like to talk to others, but on the inside she is outgoing and smart. I think physical appearances can be related to a person's personality. I don't think it happens for anyone in the middle of the looks scale, but it can for people who are either very pretty or not good looking. If you are pretty and you know it, that will most likely make you personality more confident and sure. If you aren't the best looking person then you probably won't feel good about yourself and that would reflect on your personality. You might be more antisocial if you don't feel confident about yourself. If people's interior beauty was directly related to their external appearance people would look a lot different. Some people are "fake" and if this were true people would have to be honest all of the time. There would be no more putting on a show and no more hiding who you really are. This would not be a good thing for a lot of people. Then their fear of people seeing who you actually are would come true. Sometimes hiding things is to keep yourself safe or the others around you safe. Either way I don't think that it's right. These are my thoughts on other peoples appearances inside and out.

Spender or Saver?
In my opinion, I am more of a saver than a spender. I don't really like to spend money, especially on little things that I will not use. I am all about trying to make money, but I really don't like to spend it. One way that I don't like spending money is shopping. I HATE SHOPPING. I hate shopping for myself, I hate shopping for other people, it doesn't matter what it is, I hate shopping. That is one way how I save. I agree with the article on most of what it says. I really agree that people need immediate satisfaction because it is true. Instead of saving money most of the human population goes out to buy the newest and greatest thing. I don't think that this is good for our economy at all. My generation are definitely spenders. WE are lazy and we need to get up off our butts. All the teenagers just wanted the newest thing and are oh so willing to spend their money and buy it, rather than saving their money for college. Overall I think the world is filled with more spenders than savers.

My Tribes
I have a German and Irish background, I belong to the tribe of the German and the Irish. But I also belong to many more tribes. I belong to the tribe of card players. And the tribe of nerds. And the tribe of chocoholics. And the tribe of shy people. And the tribe of pop tart lovers. And the tribe of readers. And the tribe of family and friends. And the tribe of curly wacky hair. And the tribe of loving friends. And the tribe of drummers. And the tribe of powdered donuts. And the tribe of girls who are intelligent, caring, and happy. And the tribe of the soccer players.

Extrovert or Introvert?
In my opinion, I think I am an introvert. I have the way I like to do things and that is the way I do them. I prefer not to hang out with big crowds and talk with people I don't have to. I think extroverts have it easier. This is because they like to be around people and socialize. I think it would come easier to people like that because it is easier to approach people. It is also makes them more approachable. If the whole world was extroverts I think there would be some chaos. Usually people with the same personality types don't get along as well. If the whole world was like that there would be a lot of problems. This would be especially hard if all of these people were outgoing with the type A personality. I think there would be a similar problem if the whole world was introverts. I don't think that there would be anyone stepping up and leading people, that would cause problems. I prefer some of my friends to be extroverts, not too many, and some of my friends to be introverts, not too many. This is exactly how my friends are now and I like it just the way it is. I think that extroverts would make the better leaders because they would be more willing to step up and take charge. They would be more willing to talk to the people and direct. It is hard to say whether an extrovert or an introvert would be a better writer and this is because there are so many different types of books. If the book was on a more serious level or a non- fiction book I think that the introverts would be best at it. If the book is sci- fi or fantasy I think extroverts would be the best at it. Overall though, I believe that the introverts would be the best writers. I think introverts would be the best neighbors because they would be more considerate and quieter. It matters to me a little bit if people are extroverts or introverts. It matters because I like to surround myself with certain people and if you aren't it, then i probably won't hang out with you. This is how I feel about the introverts and extroverts.

My Road
I am on a road traveled by others. I am not alone in what I do and yet sometimes it feels as though I am the only one. The path that I am on is pretty smooth and easy- going. The road is very windy and there are lots of hills and bumps, but it is easy when there is others helping me. My family and my friends are there with me. There are many roadblocks in my way to success. Some are easy to get over and others are harder. I thought I knew what my destination was many times. I think after reading the Life Laws book I have more of an understanding of where I want to head in my life. I think my destination would be my future. My family with a good job that I love and want. I will ensure my future by getting good grades and keeping on the right track. If I travel my road and do what I need to do then I will get where I need to get.

The Day I Threw Away Caroline's Retainers
The Day I Threw Away Caroline's Retainers
I was in 5th grade at the Math party. It was a sunny day outside and everyone was happy. We were celebrating our domination in the Math tournament. Canton South took most of the awards. This was a party after school with my two favorite teachers at the time, Mr. Boldizar and Mr. Lawver. I sat at the table closest to the door with Caroline, Casey, and Livi. We ate pizza drank pop and had a good time. (Caroline did not drink any pop because she despises the taste of it.) Caroline had to take her retainers out to eat and I did not want to look at them while I was enjoying my pizza. To fix that, I wrapped them up in a napkin so I could eat. After that, everyone went into the gym to play dodge ball. About halfway through the game, Caroline realized she didn't have her retainers in. She left the gym and went back to the classroom. Minutes later she came running back shouting about how her retainers were gone. She was freaking out. I went back to the classroom with her, we realized someone cleaned them up because they must have thought it was food in that napkin. Caroline got very sad because she knew how much they cost her parents. I was feeling really bad because it was my fault they were missing. Mr. Boldizar and Mr. Lawver came back in the room to help look. They searched through all of the trash cans without gloves and opened every napkin to find her retainers. We were in 5th grade so we really didn't do much to help. Eventually, they found it and Caroline was so happy. She forgave me for losing her retainers even though it was such a big deal. From then on, she never let me wrap up her retainers.

Life Law Six: Thought of the Day
~You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.
This quote to me is saying that there are always different perspectives on everything you do. This specific quote is saying that you could be an optimist or a pessimist. The rose has thorns. This is a bad thing and most people see this as bad and it can't be changed. Thorns have roses. This is a good thing. These two statement are the same thing it just depends on your perspective and your perception. The way you look at things influences your life around you.

Thought for the Day
~Take action today so that you do not miss your opportunity.
I think that this is very true and it relates to everyone's life. This is saying if you don't take action and do what you are scared of doing, you will miss your opportunity to do it. When you are scared of doing something and you put it off, it will never get done. this really relates to be because I am a big procrastinator and I don't like to step out of my comfort zone. If I took more action when i had the chance I think I would get a lot more things done and wouldn't have as many missed opportunities.

A Noiseless, Patient Spider
A NOISELESS, PATIENT SPIDER
by: Walt Whitman (1819-1892)
by: Walt Whitman (1819-1892)
NOISELESS, patient spider, - I mark'd, where, on a little promontory, it stood, isolated;
- Mark'd how, to explore the vacant, vast surrounding,
- It launch'd forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself;
- Ever unreeling them--ever tirelessly speeding them.
- And you, O my Soul, where you stand,
- Surrounded, surrounded, in measureless oceans of space,
- Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing,--seeking the spheres, to connect them;
- Till the bridge you will need, be form'd--till the ductile anchor hold;
- Till the gossamer thread you fling, catch somewhere, O my Soul.
- I like this poem by Walt Whitman. I interpret a meaning that applies to everyone's life. It may not be the right interpretation, but is there any correct interpretation? I think this poem is
about standing alone. I think it is about that you are never alone for long and once you put yourself out there, you will be with others. i think that this is also saying that there are others out there that are in the same boat as you are. If you are alone then someone else is too, you just need to find them.

My Favorite Walt Whitman Poem
O CAPTAIN! MY CAPTAIN!
Walt Whitman (1819-1892)
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths--for you the shores
a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck
You've fallen cold and dead.
Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths--for you the shores
a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck
You've fallen cold and dead.
My captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult, O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult, O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

Movie Preferations
Some movies are serious, designed to make the audience think. Other movies are designed primarily to amuse and entertain. Which type of movie do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Both serious and amusing movies are entertaining. It all depends on what the movie is really about. Overall I think I prefer the amusing and entertaining movies. Comedies are one of my favorite types of movies because you don't know what's going to happen next,and even if you did they found a funny way to put it in the movie. I think I like amusing and entertaining movies the best is because that is how I try to look at life. Not always so serious and rigid, life can be amusing and fun. I have never watched The Hangover like everyone else has and I still think other movies are funny. I have watched Grown- Ups and I think that might have been the funniest movie I have ever watched. Things like that amuse me. Even though I like movies that make you stop and think, I prefer comedies that make me laugh and enjoy the movie.

My Sophmore Year
I think this is what I'm supposed be doing right now. Coming into sophmore year I didn't have very high expectations. last year I had a lot of friends in almost every single one of my classes. This year I have friends in my classes, just not as many as last year. When I started sophmore year I thought it was going pretty well and my classes were good. Since then I have gotten used to my new schedule and I really like how we have laptops because it is very very helpful. Especially since every teachers gives us stuff online. But overall I think this year is going pretty well.
