If I was Judge DeSalvo

If I was Judge DeSalvo, I would have a lot of opinions about Anna's case. If I was Judge DeSalvo, I would say the following things about the case. I understand where Sara is coming from. She has her whole family to think about, not just Anna. Sara has to be a mother at home and a lawyer in court. I think she tries to separate the two, but she ends up being a mother in both places. I understand why she would be mad as well, but she needs to know it is not her decision to make. In order for Kate to live, Anna has to endure some pain. I know if my siblings needed anything, no questions asked I would give it to them. I didn't grow up having to give and give and give and give every time they needed a transplant. I feel if I did grow up that way, then my answer may be a little different. I understand where Campbell is coming from as well. At first, I thought he was just a attorney looking for some good press. Then, after the case went on, I realized he was doing this because he cared for Anna, because he could relate to her. I don't think Campbell is a bad person at all and I think he is fair and he does what he can to help. This is what I would say about the case. With all of this, I would rule in favor of Anna and Campbell. It is Anna's decision to make, not anyone's but hers. She is capable of making her own decisions. With all of the things she's been through, I think she is more mature than most of the people her age. Even though Kate convinced her in the beginning, I believe it is best for Anna and for her family if Anna is medically emancipated.

Designer Babies

There is a lot of contraband regarding designer babies. Is it right for the parents to be able to choose their children? Parents choose these "designer babies" for their DNA. The most common reason for designer babies is to be a "savior sibling". These babies can save their older sibling by the things found in their DNA. This is why the parents choose these babies, to save their other child. Should a parent be able to "design" their baby? Many parents believe that it is unethical. They believe by choosing one of the embryos, they are killing the other babies that could've been chosen before them because of their DNA. Do the parents think about what the child will grow up thinking? If I was a designer baby, I would feel like I was only made to save someone else. I would feel that my parents didn't love me as much or that I was different. What I believe may not make any sense, but I believe it is not up to the parents to the parents to decide. I think it should be up to the children. If they want a brother or sister that is made that way and would feel a certain way in the future, then they should decide.

Holocaust: Real or Fake?

If I was talking to someone who believed that the Holocaust was fake or made- up, we would most likely get into an argument. How is someone supposed to make- up the Holocaust? First of all, who would even do that? Second of all, how do you explain everything that happened? Over six million Jews just suddenly disappeared. Where did they go, if not to concentration camps? Are all of the pictures fake, how do you fake those? The ginormous camps out in the middle of nowhere, what are those? The tattoos on the captives arms, the gallery of old belongings of the captives, the pain and misery that they still feel today. How do you fake that? Is there any real evidence that the Holocaust didn't happen? There is a lot of evidence that it did. Think about that.

The Holocaust

Why? Why did Hitler have to rise to power? Why did he treat human beings like he did? People are people. They are human. Jews are human, they are people. The same as Germans, Americans, Africans, Chinese. We are all people. Living, breathing people. Why couldn't Hitler see that? Why did he view Jews the way he did? We are all equal. At least, that's how everyone should be treated, like we are all the same. Why do these wars even start? Is it all because of one person, one group doing something completely stupid? Is it because of a leader trying to protect their nation? Why do these leaders feel the need to start a war between so many nation to protect their country? Are we not safe where we live? Why can't the countries just get along? I understand that I know nothing about politics, I know nothing about foreign trade. But, my one overall question for every country is, Why can't we all just get along?

The Inside Life of My Mother

I learn things about my mother everyday. Some are new, some are old. Some are good, some are bad. The time that sticks out most in my head took place at my grandparent's house. My mom has 4 siblings one older sister, one younger sister, and two younger brothers. My uncle Larry and my mom were joking around with each other and saying that they were going to fight. I didn't think much was going to happen. They are over 35 and about to have a throw down. My mom and my uncle were wrestling on the floor and she pinned him down. Being a girl and being probably 70 pounds less than him, I was impressed. Later, we found out she cracked one of his ribs. I learned that day that my mom doesn't give up and she is driven. I already knew she was strong, but this gave a whole new level of understanding how her childhood went. It made me respect her more.

My Neighborhood

My neighborhood has a bunch of old people in it. There are about five houses with children in them. Three of the houses belong to my family. My cousins and I have had many adventures through our neighborhood. If "To Kill A Mockingbird" took place in my neighborhood there would be a lot of changes and a lot of things that stayed the same. There are neighbors who are really nice and love kids, and there are the neighbors who want nothing to do with you at all. I do not think I would be friends with Scout, Jem, or Dill. All three of them are outgoing and not afraid. I was (am) a very shy person. I don't like to meet new people or try new things.I think I would associate with them enough times to go on an adventure. I think it would have to be an adventure that is not too dangerous. They would probably get bored of my presence and de-friend me. This is what would happen in my neighborhood.

Instructions for Living Life

My Instructions for Life:
1. Graduate High School
2. Go to College
3. Find a job that you like
4. Get your own place and make a family
5. Be happy

Personally, I think that these are very important instructions for living a happy life. These are general instructions. Some people have a happy life without a family or without going to college. I am astonished at how many people go through life in a job they hate. In my opinion, one of the most important things in have a happy life, is having a job that you like. A very important person in my life has went through a couple of jobs because they were not happy with their jobs. I know when I become an adult I want to find a job that I will love for the rest of my life. These are my beliefs on Living Life.
